Edwardian Burmese ruby and diamond cross over ring, circa 1910.

About the Item

Edwardian Burmese ruby and diamond cross over ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, further set with a round old cut diamond with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats in an open back claw setting, flanked to the shoulders with eight round old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.94 carats, to an elegant cross over form featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, leading to scrolling shoulders with ridged detail and flowing through to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #80262-88.
