Late Victorian Burmese Ruby and Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1900s
About the Item
Vertically-set pairs of old cut diamonds alternate with three oval-shaped Burmese rubies in this classic example of a late Victorian era ring.
The ring is well-proportioned with the centre ruby weighing 0.85 carats, the two remaining rubies weighing 0.40 carats each, and total diamond weight of 0.40 carats.
Dating from the very early 1900s, the ring’s original 18 carat yellow gold setting features a fluted gallery and hand-carved details at the shoulders.
