Toi Et Moi Ring: Two lovely pink spinels shine like two halves of one soul The Design: Two become one in this romantic ring set with two lovely pink spinels that complement each other perfectly. Two stone rings are called “Toi et Moi” rings, French for “You and Me.” In one of the great romances of history, Napoleon gave Josephine a Toi et Moi engagement ring. Here the two halves are quite different: light and dark, platinum and rose gold, diamond pave and pink sapphire pave, but they seamlessly join into one beautiful whole. The Inspiration: “I acquired these two gems at the same time and they always looked like a loving couple to me. Their colors and shapes complemented each other so well that I could not bear to split them up into two separate pieces of jewelry. I decided to put them together in a Toi et Moi ring and let these two soulmates remain together forever.” – Alexia Connellan The Gems: Spinel is one of the hidden treasures of the gem world. Closely related to ruby and even more rare, spinel was confused with ruby for hundreds of years: many of history’s famous “rubies” like the Black Prince Ruby in the British Crown Jewels are actually spinel. These untreated ethically sourced natural spinels are from Burma. The powderpuff pink and rich magenta and cushion cuts are offset with pave diamonds and pink sapphires. The Craftsmanship: This ring is completely hand-made in the ideal proportions to suit these two unique gems. This ring is very unusual in that it has been created with one half in platinum and the other half in 18k rose gold and yet the two halves blend seamlessly into one unique heirloom-quality ring.
