An artist Jewel. A collectible, 18 karat white gold "Bastonicini" ring, by Pol Bury, edition of 8, 2005. Size 7.75. This kinetic ring is an excellent example of Pol Bury's work and is an absolute conversation piece. Signed Pol Bury, French import marks, star VR, 18k gold, 750.
The Belgian artist Pol Bury is known for capturing movement in his brilliant kinetic designs. Bury, born in 1922, was was a sculptor, painter, photographer, print and filmmaker. Influenced by Calder's mobiles, he began experimenting with kinetic sculptures during the 1950s. He specialized in the element of surprise. Bury created many private and public works especially major fountains, exploring the interactions between water and metal. His kinetic jewelry closely followed the explorations in his other fields of art.
