Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Keeper Ring, 1900

A Victorian 18ct yellow gold "Keeper" ring. Keeper rings were originally worn on the finger to prevent another ring from inadvertently sliding off that finger.
The ring is hallmarked with Birmingham assay office marks, '18' for 18 carat gold, and date letter 'a' to denote 1900.

Period: - Early 20th Century.
Date: - 1900.
Measurement: - UK ring size Q 1/2 (leading edge). US ring size 8 1/4 (leading edge). The band is 7.5mm (width to the front) x 5.5mm (width to the back).
