Victorian Large Natural Pearl & Diamond Gold Snake Ring
The snake has been a powerful image since the Victorian era and continues to be popular even in modern jewelry. It has been an inspiration for jewelry design for ages, often used to symbolize eternity, everlasting love, life and protection. This fabulous snake ring is from the Victorian era and is simply marvelous. Coiled around a large pearl, the snake's body is made of 14kt yellow gold and represents the mounting as well as the band of the ring. A single old Mine Cut diamond is set in the top of its head and 2 small cabochon rubies rest in the eyes. The snake's body wraps around ones finger and then coils around a single pearl. The natural pearl is very large in size and has an oval-like shape. It has stunning detail and textured, scale-like etching throughout. The pearl has a wonderful and rich iridescent color which looks fantastic with the vibrant yellow color of the gold. The ring has a finger size of 6.75 but could easily been re-sized if desired. This fabulous ring is very unusual and looks amazing on! It would make a perfect addition to any collection!
