Don you favorite pair of Chanel sunglasses to temper the dazzling upon dazzling sheen of this diamond platinum ring. Behold this rare 6.49 carat champagne or cape colored marquise cut diamond (O-P color; SI1 clarity: SI rating is for the tiny clear crystals well off the center close to a prong). While diamonds are hardly rare, those in this size range of gem quality make up a tiny fraction of all diamonds ever mined since the beginning of time.

Sensual…provocative…alluring with a come hither attitude, the central diamond is further enhanced with two (2) half moon diamonds of a total estimated diamond weight of an additional .80 carats (K-L color) bringing the total weight of the ring to 7.29 carats of sheer brilliance and shine. The gems are simply prong set with an under gallery that is custom made with a labyrinth of platinum curves and ovoids.

The Marquise shape is not only the most sensual of the diamond cuts but has the added benefit of visually enhancing the size. Therefore, it looks as though it has a diamond weight much greater than the actual carats. In this size diamond that is hardly necessary yet covering the entire finger with the out-and-out brilliance adds just that much more to the already dramatic impact. This is one of those...once you slip it on your finger; it just will not be taken off.

This ring is accompanied by a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificate for the central diamond.

Date: Circa 1970.

Measurements: 15/16 of an inch (2.3 cm) in length north to south on the hand; just over 9/16 of an inch from side to side (1.5 cm) and rises 1/4 of an inch (0.7 cm) in height off the finger. Weight of 8.3 grams (5.3 dwt).

Ring Size: US 9-1/2 (UK S-1/2; Int. Dia. 19.5; Euro 61.5 mm; Japan 19) and easily can be sized to fit almost any hand.
Note: Center diamond has been removed for exact weight and grading. Other diamonds have not been removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
