Antique Mother-of-Pearl Gaming Counter Ring in 18k Gold with Ceramic Bands
About the Item
This ring features an antique, mother-of-pearl Chinese gambling counter with motifs dating back to the 18th century. This piece was originally carved in China for export to Britain. The British used these mother-of-pearl pieces much like we would use a poker chip. (Please refer to the history of the gaming counter, shown along with additional photographs of this piece.)
Each gaming counter is finely engraved and is set in a handmade 18k yellow gold and blackened silver mounting inspired by the architecture of Ancient China. Two black ceramic bands, for wear on both sides of this ring, are included.
