Men's Ruby and Diamond Armored Crest Ring
About the Item
This 14 Karat Yellow Gold Armored Crest Ring features 6 Round cut Natural Regal Red Rubies totaling 0.20 carats with a central diagonally set array of 5 Nearly Colorless Nearly Flawless Round Single cut Diamonds totaling 0.07 carats ranking an F-G Color & VVS1-VS1 Clarity. This over-sized crest supersedes the traditional size, most were also carved Intaglios, as opposed to this unusual Gold Jeweled crest. Accented with Old World European Hand Engraving as well as highly detailed hand-tooling techniques used to set the gems. Although an American-made piece, clearly much of a European inspiration. The Europeans traditionally used shield crest as a symbol of protection. Signet rings date as far back as 3500 B.C. .. Initially a seal, later used in jewelry.
