Signet ring with an ancient Greek coin designed by Bvlgari. Very handsome Moneta signet ring created in Roma Italy by the jewelry house of Bvlgari back in the late 1970's. This ring has been crafted with stepped patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. It is mounted with a beautiful genuine ancient Greek coin from the portuary city of Taras (Tarentum) in Calabria, Southern Italy, a silver diobol, struck circa 380-325 BC. Obverse description: Portrait bust of Athena facing to the left wearing a crested war Athenean helmet. (Very rare with Athena facing to left, usually always is facing to right). Reverse description: The naked figure of Herakles (Hercules) kneeling right, strangling a Nemean lion with left hand, and holding club in his right hand. Weight: 12.55 Grams, (8.04 Dwt). Size: 7 and can be sized. Measurements: 15 mm by 20 mm (0.59 x 0.79 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the Italian gold assay mark and signed, "BVLGARI .750 TARENTUM AR DIOBOL IV SEC.
