It's one of the rarest gemstones in the world, but most people have never heard of it: the chrysoberyl cat's eye. The stones are nearly as hard and durable as sapphire and are found in riverbeds in Sri Lanka. Often, they are a greenish-gray color; ideally, they are the color you see here, described as "milk & honey" because the milk-white "eye" slides through the "honey" colored body of the gem. This incredibly high-quality, large, and impeccably-colored chrysoberyl cat's eye gem has a sharp, well-defined "eye" that slides across the stone as you move your hand. The simple, 18k yellow gold band mirrors the warmth of the stone and the simplicity of the design doesn't take away from the stone's inherent drama. The color of the rare chrysoberyl cat's eye is a golden olive and represents the ideal for this gemstone. The stone measures 13.3mm x 10.2mm x 9.52mm and weighs just over 12.5 carats.
