About the Item
A super stylish, large emerald cut purple, synthetic colour-change sapphire singles tone ring dating from circa 1960. Synthetic color-change sapphires are fascinating because their strong color-change effect caused by high levels of vanadium overwhelms what most natural sapphires can exhibit. With this beautiful piece we see both warm purple and cool violetish blue colours strongly expressed at the same time and under different light settings. Dating from the mid century the band and setting are typical of the period being large and a statement making this a very bold piece ideal for showing of the stones true allure.
