Antique Sapphire and Diamond ring, 18k gold, Edwardian
About the Item
You can't help but fall in love with this beautiful antique Sapphire and Diamond ring.
Set in rich buttery 18ct gold, this design is also known as a boat head style, it has a scrolling design to the top and bottom of the gallery with lightly ridged shoulders and a smooth gold band.
It features two larger oval cut blue sapphires flanked by two diamonds and two further small sapphire chips, there are two diamonds in between the sapphires adding a little extra sparkle.
The sapphires are a nice rich blue with typical colour zoning, slightly different shades but well matched and good quality with an approx overall 0.40ct total estimated weight.
It is very much reminiscent of the Victorian era styles but is a later piece crafted in the 1910s by the Renowned maker Deakin and Francis, Deakin and Francis jewellers and silversmith have been around since 1786 and are still producing fine jewellery today.
This ring comes in an antique ring box so would make a wonderful gift.

Victorian era, fully hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham assay office, 1911, Maker Deakin and Francis.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, minor surface wear, commensurate with age, one diamond chip replaced, slight thinning to the band at the reverse.
Ring face Approx 6.1mm length and 2.4mm band width.
