About the Item

Allen Walker. A Rare Gold Repousse Triple Cased Keywind Fusee Verge Pocket Watch C1785 Dial: The beautiful perfect white enamel dial with Roman numerals outer wavy minute track with Arabic minute numerals at five minute intervals. The dial is signed Allen at twelve and Walker at six. The original hands are intricate Louis XVI style. Case: This rare triple case repousse pocket watch with the outer gilt metal protective case covered in tortoiseshell. This opens to reveal a superb fine gold repousse case with a Roman Mythological Scene. The third case which houses the movement is made of fine gold. The cases are all English hallmarked for 1785. Movement: The fine keywind Verge fusee chain driven movement with intricate hand engraved bridgecock, square pillars, signed and numbered movement. This pocket watch is a fine and rare repousse which shows hardly any sign of wear. The Roman mythological scene is of Vulcan catching the Roman God of War Mars having an affair with his wife Venus.
