About the Item

An Edwardian Guilloché enameled pendant-clock. A beautiful and finely detailed pendant-watch created in Switzerland, back in the 1895. The pendant watch has been crafted with Edwardian motifs in solid yellow gold of 14 karats and fully decorated with engine turned swirl Guilloché patterns topped with intense red glass enamel. The surface is embellished with thirteen (lucky number) four-leafed lucky shamrocks which are mounted with fifty-two earth mined natural rose cut diamonds. Dial: Round engine turned guilloche swirl pattern with red enamel with gilt Breguet Arabic numerals and gilt hands. Secondary dial for seconds. Movement: Mechanical, wingding 3/4 plate nickel pendant wind and set Case: Made in14k gold, engine turned guilloche topped with red glass enamel, with rose cut diamonds and signed “A W 14k 904151”. Diamonds: Mount in flush settings, with 52 European rose cut diamonds, 3.12 carats, white colorless F color, VS/SI clarity. Note: In numerology, the number 52 is a mix of energies from the numbers 5 & 2. Number 5 means freedom, adventure, and change, while number 2 brings vibrations of balance, harmony, and partnership. Weight: 22.95 Grams, (14.72 Dwt). Measurements: 42 mm by 30 mm (1.66 x 1.18 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold. the serial numbers and signed, "A W 14K 904151". Guilloché This is a term used in fine jewelry or object's de Vertu to enhance the appearance of boxes, frames, brooches, rings or pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue. Four-Leafed Clover The four-leafed clover, or “lucky clover”, is an uncommon variation of the three-leafed clover, and widely considered to be a symbol of good luck. Because they are a mutation, they are rare, and not found in the same abundance as the shamrock, and thus, considered lucky. Collateral: This pendant clock is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this clock is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The diamonds and the enamel are secured in the settings.
