Universal Geneve Calatava Stainless Steel Crosshair Dial Automatic
About the Item
Universal Genève is more well known for its sports models, but they were also proud makers of beautiful and interesting dress watches. With clear 1950s style, the case has a clean and straightforward case design with a wide-set bezel that adds to the presence of the watch. The steel dauphine hands and indexes give the right amount of richness to the watch. The crosshair motif is something that UG and other collectors always appreciate. There is a bumper movement – the caliber 138SS – fitted inside. This movement design is another period-specific feature often seen in watches the 1950s; bumper movements were gradually phased out in favor of more efficient full self-winding rotor movements.
