Huge framed minimalist ZERO artwork in textile by a known Dutch artist, signed and dated. With limited use of color and material this piece creates an interesting play with light and shadow, linking it to the Minimalist ZERO. Zero was an artist group founded in Düsseldorf in 1958 by Heinz Mack and Otto Piene. The word 'zero', in the words of Piene, meant: "a zone of silence and of pure possibilities for a new beginning". In 1961, Günther Uecker joined the group. ZERO, written in capital letters, stands for the international movement, with artists from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Italy.
