"New Bauhus" contemporary bronze table, mural sculpture figurative girl freedom
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong
New Bauhus is a bronze sculpture with black patina, it is connected to a steel base. The edition size is 25. This sculpture stands on shelf as well as be hung on wall. Joan wants to depict the sense of freedom and free will by capturing the flying pose of the female figurine. Joan’s latest sculpture series of female figures brings an out-of-the-box approach to sculpture creation. The small vivid women figures linked or bonded to their pedestals; the figures are delicate and intriguing representation of a woman’s mind and soul yearning for liberty, freedom, a moment of tranquility from busy daily life, or a space that she could spend the time totally with herself and for escaping from the routine and monotony. The woman made of bronze is warm and sensual and dances in/on a structure of rusted iron. She observes the world from her/ours solitude, from this vertiginous watchtower (metaphor of life, universe) rusted because the inexorable time. The base rises impressively, creating a contradiction between both pieces. However, in Joan’s work the geometrical base and the figure find a surprising harmony. BIOGRAPHY OF JOAN ARTIGAS PLANAS...

Hippopotamus "lace" Bronze 6/8 by Sophie Martin
By Sophie Martin
Located in Pasadena, CA
Animal sculptor Sophie MARTIN creates from inert clay a whole living animal kingdom. She freely observes the animal and captures and interprets a movement; and places it in nature and real life with a zest of fancy. Without humanizing the model, respecting the uniqueness of each one in its biodiversity. After studying three years of art history at the Ecole du Louvre, it was with her uncle and her aunt veterinarians, that her love for animals truly took shape in the clay; as with the first models animals on the examination table...

Catch me if you can!- 21st Century Dutch Bronze Sculpture of a Squirrel

'Robin' A Modern British Bronze Bird Sculpture. Wildlife & Nature Sculpture
By Richard Smith b.1955
Located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire
'Robin' is a stunningly elegant Bronze sculpture. Richard Smith conveys so much character in such simple lines, exemplifying a truly wonderful talent. The fantastic richly detailed graduated Patina really adds to the depth of the work. Richard Smith works as a part-time sculptor and a part-time gamekeeper on an estate in Hertfordshire, England. On seeing his sculptures the viewer cannot deny Smith's knowledge and love of the animals he creates. Each piece he creates he pays homage to nature and wildlife. Richard J. Smith was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, UK in 1955. He studied illustration at Luton School of Art to a high standard and graduated with a diploma in Technical & Scientific Illustration. He was soon offered a job as a medical artist at the John Radcliffe teaching hospital in Oxford. In 1978 he was painting for galleries as a full time artist with his depictions of wildlife. He has gained an international reputation for his work and is best known for his superb paintings of fish and water. He has exhibited at prestigious galleries such as the Tryon Gallery and W. H. Patersons in London, The Sportsman's Edge Gallery in New York, The Call of Africa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Everard Reed Gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa. Richard has exhibited his paintings at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in the USA and the Natural History Museum and Tring Museum in Britain. He has sold at all the major auctions houses in London, such as Christie's, Sotheby's, Bonhams and Phillips. In the latter part of 2007, Richard was commissioned to produce several fish paintings, for the Sultan of Oman. Callaghan Fine Paintings has commissioned a series of fantastic animal pieces. Including life size bronze birds; the elusive Snipe sitting atop a fence post; and the beautiful Little Blue penguin, a native of New Zealand. His works are all studied from life whilst either out in the field or in a museum with taxidermy. With incredible attention to detail Richard has breathed fresh air into this medium.
