Plants speak to us, if we can slow down enough to learn their language. They’re like people- some need constant care, others suffer when fussed with too often. Hoyas are more introverted and mostly like to be left alone, and will reward you with gorgeous blooms that fill the entire room with the smell of milk chocolate. The deep satisfaction of learning exactly what a plant needs to thrive is a parallel to the way I behave in relationships, for better or worse. I know I’m a people-pleaser, but a plant pleaser too? Probably healthier.
