181 Fremont Residence

Family Home by AubreyMaxwell in San Francisco, CA

This residence is an inviting, sumptuous home for collectors of art and design who enjoy entertaining. Textural surfaces are a central characteristic of every room, with neutral, earthy tones dominating the public areas. In the master bedroom, the custom headboard and patterned rug feature cool hues of blue and green that compliment a pair of black shou sugi ban and steel night stands. The custom designed entry cabinet is made of solid oak with an oiled finish to maintain the natural texture and surface quality of the wood. A large-scale Todd Hido photograph anchors the living room with a moody energy, balanced by the 'Torn Sky' of Sean McFarland and a vibrant abstract painting by Shinpei Kusanagi. Photographic works of art stand out in this home and include work by MacArthur Fellowship recipient Trevor Paglen, and a powerful portrait from Erica Deeman's 'Brown' series, 'George'. Faceted mirror sculptures by Andy Diaz Hope amp up the drama of light play that changes throughout the day. The beds and headboards were designed by AubreyMaxwell and produced locally.
