English Cottage Remodel

After moving our family to a Chicago suburb from Detroit, we fell in love with the charms of a 1920 English cottage-style home. The house needed updates and improvements overall the floor plan including increasing opportunities for natural lights to come into the dark home. To remedy the situation, we introduced a new color palette and lighting selection, turned the sunroom at the back of the house (a 1980s addition) into a kitchen and converted the old kitchen into an everyday dining room right next to a cozy family room adjacent the wet bar area, also reconfigured the original formal dining room into a hallway and laundry/mudroom
