It's All in the Mix

When the Park Avenue client asked for a brighter, cleaner look, Vicente knew that more than the furnishings had to be changed. With his eye for blending periods with other cultures, Vicente mixed, among other elements, antique furnishings with mid-century French furniture with Art Deco and sparer pieces - in addition to treasured artifacts he sourced personally from his global jaunts to exotic locales, through his showroom, VW Home as well as a multitude of pieces from 1st Dibs. Vicente employed architectural reconfigurations of the once dark, heavy space including enlarging doorway openings for more gracious room entries, creating focal points in every room and the removal of all the crown and base mouldings; special attention given to lighting. Much of the artwork from the client’s own collection remained. Though the client, an empty-nest couple, required constant reassuring during the process, Vicente’s bold strokes proved to be exactly what they’d wanted.
