Pacific Avenue Residence

Family Home by BAR Architects & Interiors in San Francisco, CA

This Pacific Heights property, a historic landmark 1924 home designed and built by the architect G. Albert Lansburgh, is exceptional in that it runs completely through the block, from Pacific to Broadway. Our design for the renovation of the home was to accommodate a family and an extensive collection of modern art, using the contrast of the historic home and the modern interiors to highlight the benefits of both, and to be an elegant background for the client’s expansive modern art collection. Design features include a Donald Judd inspired, cantilevered stone staircase with hammered bronze railing adjacent to a large double height entry hall with skylight above.
