"Wilson Arch Near Moab, Utah, " Oil Painting
By Stephen Day
Located in Denver, CO
Stephen Day's (US based) "Wilson Arch Near Moab, Utah" is an original, handmade oil painting that depicts a desert trail dotted with foliage leading to a rock formation of red sandstone that is reminiscent of an Archway. Stephen Day was born in Sheridan, Wyoming, and, while growing up he lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Aspen Colorado, and Durango, Colorado. He always felt the wonderfully unique beauty of the west but until he became an artist he really didn't know how to fully respond to that beauty. Day is now a full-time artist living in Taos, New Mexico. Working mainly in oil he paints various subjects from life but the landscape is his first love. He says of his working philosophy, "I paint almost exclusively from life trying to capture the feeling and the mood of the subject before me. This work philosophy forces me to paint quickly to get a spontaneous and fresh response, because everything around us (including ourselves) is in a constant state of change." Day frequently paints on location and uses these smaller paintings to create larger studio paintings. Artist's Background: 1976 - Bachelor of Arts Degree, McMurry College, Abilene, Texas 1980 - Master's Degree, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas Studied at the Art Students League of Denver with Bruce Cody...

Artist Yvonne Melchers showcases her mastery of light and form in her sumptuously detailed paintings of subjects both intimate and universal. Whether painting a scene from her beloved North Sea Shore, the portrait of a strong but vulnerable young man dressed for the historical Siena Palio...

Framed size: 33.5 inches high x 29.2 inches wide x 1.13 inches deep. Sold framed. The true colors of the painting are shown in photos #1 and 2. With its mostly white tones and intricate, textured background, this work is nearly a complete departure from the artist’s other paintings. Although it is executed in a powerful chiaroscuro from a classical point of view, the counterpoint of contemporary objects with the vibrant colors make this painting distinctly modern. Portrait of Christina Patterson, 5 Years Old
By Aaron Shikler
Located in Milford, NH
A fine portrait of a 5 year old Christina Patterson by American artist Aaron Abraham Shikler (1922-2015). Shikler was born in Brooklyn, New York, studied at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, then studied in New York with the abstract painter Hans Hofmann, but he remained a committed realist throughout his life, under the sway of artists like Degas, Vuillard, Sickert and Sargent. To make a living, he painted clowns and ballerinas for a wholesale company, signing the work “Phil I. Steen” to register his disgust. When Leroy Davis, an Army friend, opened the Davis Gallery in Manhattan in 1953, he began showing Mr. Shikler’s work, which included figure studies, still lifes and landscapes. A turning point came in 1959 when Jane Engelhard...

"Hybrid 11" Acrylic painting
By Stacy D'Aguiar
Located in Denver, CO
Stacy D'Aguiar's (US based) "Hybrid 11" is an acrylic painting that depicts a colorful butterfly and beetle transposed on a teal background. Artist Statement: My paintings are channeled, Visual Dreamscapes in connection with Unseen Frequencies of the Universe. My exploration of the surreal investigates the mysteries of the energy that connects all things, and the mind's potential to heal through imagery. Each piece is infused with Reiki Healing Energy (a universal healing technique) and Sacred Geometry Symbols, which elevates each magical creation energetically, and emits positivity, peace and tranquility. By showcasing alternate realities on diverse elemental canvases, my art is designed to inspire others to see the nature of the world around and within, as well as influence a sacred space for awakening. I offer you a journey through the garden of my Visions and allow the gift of healing to revive the sacred breath of Oneness. {Sacred Geometry} is a term used to describe patterns, shapes and forms that are part of the make up of all living things and that regularly occur in nature. It is system of universal design in which the energy of creation organizes itself into form. Bio: Stacy D’Aguiar (born in 1974) is a San Diego artist who creates dreamy visual treats using a delightfully vibrant palette and intriguing subject matter, to compose a feast for the eyes and mind. She’s a full-time artist spending most of her days in her studio in North Park creating paintings for collections and exhibits all over the country. Stacy received a BA in Graphic Design from Virginia Tech where she was also enrolled in many art classes ranging from life drawing and painting, to sculpture and digital, but mainly a self-taught artist. She pursued her design career after graduating in 1996, and used her drawing and computer skills to design t-shirt art, toys, costume art, logos, and corporate branding, and more. She picked up a paintbrush again in 2002 and worked in oil, painting mostly fantasy and surreal. Stacy has made her living painting abstracts, landscapes and surrealism since 2010, collaborating with designers, art reps and galleries in Orange County, Laguna Beach, Santa Fe, Charleston, and LA, to name a few. Her work has shown at SCOPE Art Miami, the Laguna Art Museum, Art San Diego, and Art Santa Fe, and published in PoetsArtists, California Homes Magazine, Luxe Magazine, Pacific Magazine, and Nug Magazine. She’s collaborated with Clive...

View from Chianti Farmhouse , Landscape oil painting, Classical Realism.
By Angel Ramiro Sanchez
Located in Houston, TX
View from Chianti Farmhouse is Realist Landscape painted from life, searching for accuracy beyond physical appearance . This is oil on canvas with a custom made archival frame. View from Chianti Farmhouse demonstrates that the painter must draw his information from all five senses to tell the complete human story as seen in this garden view. View from Chianti Farmhouse combines the accuracy of academic realism, with a passion for laying paint on the canvas. His portraits and landscapes evoke qualities last seen at the turn of century. Angel Ramiro Sanchez was born in 1974 in Maracaibo, Venezuela. At age six was accepted with full scholarship into the Instituto the Niños Cantores del Zulia, school for musically gifted children. At age fourteen he began five years of apprenticeship with the realist painter, Abdon J. Romero, an eminent specialist in murals for churches and public buildings. In 1993, a study grant from Mgr. Gustavo Ocando Yamarte, Founder the Niños Cantores, enabled him to travel to Florence, Italy, where he studied at the renowned Accademia di Belle Arti, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. At the same time, he was enrolled at The Florence Academy of Art,founded by painter Daniel Graves...

Grapes and French Cheese
Located in Woodbury, CT
Oil on panel, signed and dated 2001. French wooden frame in ivory with gold leaf. Unframed size: 19.7 inches high x 23.6 inches wide. Framed size: 26.4 inches high x 30.5 inches wide x 1 inch deep. Sold framed. The first Eyckmans’ painting to employ a brighter, golden palette, this everyday kitchen scene explores the differing textures of the objects within. The artist’s love of all things French is exemplified here with antique pottery, a starched linen tablecloth, breadboard and, of course, fruit and favorite cheeses. Note the superb shadowing of the board extending over the table, the detailing in the chèvre and paper wrapping to the left, and the asymmetrical cluster of stemmed Muscat grapes, all illuminated by easterly light. Classical in perspective and execution, but with a more contemporary feel that derives from the use of color and light, this painting marks a transformational point in the artist’s work. This painting is available for viewing at The Elemental Garden...

"Still Life with Architectural Columns and Pear" by Leon Olmo 31 x 52 inches
By Leon Olmo
Located in Atlanta, GA
Item is in excellent condition and has only been displayed in a gallery setting. With frame dimensions are approximately 44" x 64" Leon Olmo was born in Moron de la Frontera at the end of the 1940's beginning at a young age to study drawing and wax technique. From heightened stimulation incredible still-lifes are produced from the nearby aromas of lemons, jasmine, pomegranates, and medlars, fruits which often appear throughout his paintings. Olmo is a self-taught painter, reaching the status as one of Seville’s most talented artists through strict perseverance in drawing and painting. Working until complete exhaustion, Olmo attempts to capture all of himself with every image he creates. For Olmo, neatness and cleanliness go hand in hand when creating a work of art. Though he denies traditional academicism, Olmo does utilize a methodical approach in each painting that begins with strict preparation of the fibrapan board upon which he paints. Beginning with a primer composed of calcium sulfate and glue, he sands the board’s surface until smooth. This regimented routine is in accord with Olmo’s insistence of maintaining neatness and cleanliness for he has rejected the use of canvas where any imperfection is not up to standard. He then picks juicy fresh fruits from their trees and retrieves wooden boards from a collection that he has acquired over the years during walks with his father. Arranging the objects for the desired effect, the outcome will be a play of shadows between the background and brilliant center of the composition. With the brush he draws simple motifs and leaves layers of paint until he achieves a magic luminosity, where the observer can actually see through space, a transparent quality distinctly from the hand of Olmo. The recreation of natural elements in his paintings is to remind the observer of humanity’s material nature. The symbolic use of jasmine is special to the artist, in order to represent the grandeur of small things, six petals with an incredible scent which contain within them the magic of the artist and of his Andalusian land. Olmo’s dreamlike masterpieces contain human warmth that has an unsurpassable way of working their way into the hearts and minds of his collectors. Leon Olmo and his son Leon Reina make up a father and son painting...
