Long upholstered Cabriole and Chippendale sofa or daybed with humped camelback and rolled arms. Wood and caning back and 3 upholstered removable cushions. This could even be considered a wider version of a Bergère chair. Or even considered slightly in the Georgian style. Camelback or Queen Ann style back features caning using rattan or the bamboo plant to create an interwoven design both at the back as well as under the sides of both arms. The cresting which frames the caning at back is a simple rounded form. Reinforced with a wooden crossbar at back. Arms are Fauteuil bentwood with carvings and feature cane at the sides below the arms. In excellent condition. The front three legs are beautifully carved in a cabriole, ball foot, or Pad Foot style. The back three legs are block feet. All 6 feet provide a greater amount of support. The apron or front rail of the sofa is a simple straight piece of wood with no carvings. Down-filled seat cushions with springs add function to form. Cushions and base are covered in a plush blue-purple velvet fabric and thought to be a vintage Fortuny damask pattern. The pattern has faded on the seat fronts, however, can still be seen on some portions of the cushions that were less used. Deep seating makes for plenty of room for two people to "spoon". Or for three people to sit comfortably side by side. Not pictured, are two matching square back pillows that could be used on the sides of the couch for extra comfort. This would make a great addition to formal living, family room, or at the end of a King size bed. ** Fabric is unknown but thought to be a Vintage Fortuny in the Caravaggio pattern or similar.
