Kentucky-born, Brooklyn-based artist Elliott Puckette is known for her lyrical, abstract paintings. Upon completing her degree in fine art at the Cooper Union in 1989, Puckette joined the roster at the then-emerging Paul Kasmin Gallery, where, over two decades later, she still shows her work. Puckette's primarily monochrome artworks incorporate drawn and painted abstractions as well as mixtures of collage and sculpture and have been featured in Art in America, the New York Times and Vogue. Her work can also be found in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New York Public Library and the Fogg Museum at Harvard University. Of 1stdibs, Puckette says: "It is such a luxury to find that obscure swivel chair or club fender without having to comb over backstreets and flea markets, which albeit fun, is time-consuming and one never finds what one is after.” Scroll to see Puckette’s artful selection of items from 1stdibs.
