Michael S. Smith

Interior Designer

Smith studied at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and worked under legendary antiques dealer Gep Durenberger and designer John Saladino before establishing his own firm in his native Southern California. In 2009, the Obamas famously tapped him to redecorate the White House, making him a household name overnight. Not one to rest on his laurels, however, the designer (a staple of the "AD 100" and Elle Decor's A-List) has been writing books and transforming stylish homes around the world ever since.
