What happened to the Liz Claiborne brand?

1 Answer
What happened to the Liz Claiborne brand was that it was sold off to a buyer. J.C. Penney bought the Liz Claiborne family of brands in 2011 and gained exclusive rights to the name. Although J.C. Penney did continue to produce Liz Claiborne apparel and accessories, the brand's popularity declined during the years that followed. It's important to note that some parts of the former Liz Claiborne corporation remained active after 2011 but began operating under the name Fifth & Pacific Companies. They included Kate Spade, Juicy Couture and Lucky Brand. On 1stDibs, explore an assortment of vintage Liz Claiborne apparel and accessories.
