The difference between a martini glass and a cocktail glass is the overall design. Used for serving martinis, cosmopolitans and other mixed drinks, martini glasses are typically larger than cocktail glasses and have conical bowls. Cocktail glasses are smaller by comparison and have a rounder shape. Also, nearly all martini glasses have stems, but cocktail glasses are available with and without stems.
