What is the meaning of Garapata by Dex Fernandez?

1 Answer
What is the meaning of Garapata by Dex Fernandez?
The meaning of Garapata by Dex Fernandez comes from Tagalog, the native language of the Filipino artist. Garapata means "tick" or "flea," and the name is appropriate considering the design of Fernandez's multi-legged character. The whimsical character debuted around 2005 when Fernandez began creating street art as a part of the Pilipinas Street Plan collective in Manila. Find a wide variety of contemporary art on 1stDibs.
