Who was the famous English clockmaker?
There were several famous English clockmakers. One is the artisan often called the “Father of English Clockmaking,” Thomas Tompion, who produced clocks during the 17th century. Another notable name in the history of English clockmaking is John Harrison, the inventor of the chronograph. Other well-known English clockmakers include George Graham, Edward East, Joseph Knibb, Daniel Quare, William Clement and Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy.
