Carroll Dunham
Carroll Dunham (b. 1949) is a contemporary American artist best known for his distinctive fusion of abstraction and figuration. He rose to prominence in the early 1980s in New York City and was part of a new generation of artists who returned to painting with an idiosyncratic approach to representation. Throughout Dunham's career, his artwork is instantly recognizable across all mediums, regardless of whether it leans towards abstraction or figuration, due to his distinctive use of cartoon-like or graffiti-inspired shapes.
