Watercolor, 29.5 cm x 21 cm (visible dimensions), 41 cm x 32 cm (frame), signed “Baltrock” lower center and signed “[19]85”, label of Galerie Zellermayer on verso. - Paper wavy due to watercoloring, frame with slight traces of use - Association - Based on the aesthetics of the Rorschach test, we see symmetrical, brown-toned structures that we associate with people. Indeed, on the left, we can recognize a professional and an upper body, while the figure on the right also has anatomical features. With this reinforcement, we can clearly recognize a human figure in the middle. The people on the right are clearly a couple, and the person on the left has turned away from them. Encouraged by these clues, our imagination begins to form a network of relationships between the three figures. However, we are unable to resolve it, which activates our imagination even more. About the artist Detlef Baltrock trained as a decorator and studied painting at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts from 1982 to 1988. He has worked as a freelance artist ever since. From 1989 to 1994, he was a lecturer at the Lette-Verein in Berlin, and he has been a lecturer at the Sigmund Freud University in Berlin since 2015. Aquarell, 29,5 cm x 21 cm (Sichtmaß), 41 cm x 32 cm (Rahmen), unten mittig mit „Baltrock“ signiert und auf „[19]85“ signiert, verso Etikett der Galerie Zellermayer. - Papier durch das Aquarellieren gewellt, Rahmen mit leichten Gebrauchsspuren - Assoziation - An die Ästhetik des Rorschachtests angelehnt, sehen wir brauntonale symmetrische Strukturen, mit denen wir Personen assoziieren. Und tatsächlich ist links ein Profi und ein Oberkörper zu erkennen, während die Figur rechts ebenfalls anatomische Merkmale aufweist. Auf diese Weise bestärkt, erkennen wir auch in der Figuration in der Mitte eindeutig eine menschliche Gestalt. Bei den rechtsstehenden Personen handelt es ich offenbar um ein Paar und links um jemanden, der sich vom Paar abgewendet hat. Durch diese Indizien animiert, beginnt unsere Imagination, das Beziehungsgeflecht der drei Figuren auszugestalten, ohne dass es sich allerdings auflösen ließe, was die Vorstellungskraft umso mehr aktiviert. zum Künstler Nach einer Ausbildung als Dekorateur studierte Detlef Baltrock von 1982 bis 1988 an der Berliner Hochschule für Bildende Künste Malerei und ist seitdem als freierschaffender Künstler tätig. Von 1989 bis 1994 war er zudem Dozent am Berliner Lette-Verein und ist seit 2015 Hochschullehrer an der Berliner Sigmund-Freud-Universität. Seit den 80er Jahren wurden die Werke von Detlef Baltrock in zahlreihen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen präsentiert.
