This work, entitled ‘Orange Composition’ by Hermann Kremsmayer, shows a play between colours, complementary colours such as red and green, which create a certain tension between them. The artist is aware of the complexity of painting; he examines the effects of colour, pigments, sand and binding agents in a permanent, carefully reflected working process. His presence and ambivalence in the field of tension of abstract metaphors, structuring and occasional figurative schemes is the conclusive result of continuously reflected work with the aim of better understanding the inner world and existential questions through the analogies of images.
The work is painted with gouache on paper and has been signed at the bottom right and a dedication by the artist can be found at the bottom centre.
