Karen Druker (American, b. 1945) in an artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been painting since 2001, after retiring from her catering and event planning company. Druker is an associate member of the National Watercolor Society and co-chair of Watermedia Workshops for The Santa Clara County Watercolor Society. She has been participating in Silicon Valley Open Studios since 2003.
Artist’s Statement: I am continuously exploring and experimenting in my art! Creativity is my long suit. I have no fear! I only paint for myself. It is just a piece of paper, I tell myself. It is a CANVAS THAT CAN BE REPAINTED AGAIN AND AGAIN - and it will get better! And it does. I allow mistakes!
I love painting in series, to ever get deeper into the subject. I have painted up to 60 versions of the same still life set-up, emphasizing color, value, size, direction, shape, line, etc. in various versions. Currently most of my work is abstract.
My favorite artists are Matisse and Picasso. They continued to experiment and try new methods and medias throughout their lives, and I am inspired to do the same - keep it fresh! Keep it new! Doing ceramic wall pieces is next.

Karen Druker
Karen Druker is an artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been painting since 2001, after retiring from her catering and event planning company. Larry Horowitz is an American landscape painter. He was born in 1956 in New York City and graduated from SUNY Purchase and immediately won the prestigious and coveted position as apprentice to Wolf Kahn. Horowitz's work captures the beauty of the American landscape with expert use of texture and color that invites imagination and discovery. Although he paints en plein air, he has a firm grounding in abstract expressionism through his education with former students from the Bauhaus and Hans Hofmann school. He has combined both points of view to develop his unique language. His work follows in the tradition of great Modernist American landscape painters Arthur Dove, Georgia O'Keefe and Charles Burchfield but with a more modern, Fauvist color palette. He was included in the show "In the Country, By the Sea" at Madelyn Jordan Gallery along with David Kimball Anderson, Stanley Boxer, Byron Browne, Derek Buckner, Richard Diebenkorn, Larry Kelsey, Gary Komarin, and Susan Wides.
Horowitz has also shown at Images Gallery along with Gary Bukovnik, Helen Frankenthaler, Larry Horowitz, Alex Katz, Robert Motherwell, Don Nice, Philip Pearlstein, Joseph Raffael, Hunt Slonem, Carol Summers and Neil Welliver. Horowitz has exhibited extensively both in the US and Canada and is included in numerous private, corporate and public collections.
