Fine lines accompanied by sober colors come together to erect this beautiful drawing of Gustave Miklos produced circa 1957. Pigeon is a preparatory work for the sculpture with the exact same name and ordered by Jacques Andre, great admirer ,and patron of the artist. A subject on which the artist has already proven his talent in 1936 and exhibited at the Salon of the Union of Modern Artist.
Born in Hungary, Gustave Miklos attended classes at the School of Applied Art in Budapest. In 1909, he left for Paris, seeking for a more international artistic horizon. He settled in the Ruche, in Montparnasse, where he met artists from the Parisian avant-garde. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1910 and at the Salon des Independants in 1913 and 1914. In 1940, he left Paris and moved to Oyonnax, Jura,(80 kilometers west of Geneva, Switzerland) where he lived until his death in 1967. Today, an entire room is dedicated to Miklos's works in the Centre Culturel Aragon in Oyonnax.
