Two Game Birds - Trompe l'Oeil Style in Pastel on Paper
Two birds in a realistic style by LV Seely (19th Century). The birds are hanging by their feet, as if they have just been hunted. Of particular note are the shadows cast across the wall and birds, highlighting the feathers and creating a three dimensional effect. The birds could be ptarmigan or grouse.
Signed and dated "LV Seely 91" in the lower right corner.
