About the Item

Brittany Noriega The Piece That Fits Graphite on Archival Paper Year: 2021 Size: 35 x 27 x 1.3 inches Unique Framed Signed by hand COA provided Ref.: 924802-1047 This piece examines the idea that when we obsess and search for perfect beauty, we often lose the most important pieces of ourselves. The pieces that make us unique. I wanted to convey the idea that while she is broken and imperfect, the woman in the drawing is soft, beautiful, and worthy. Tags: figurative, black and gray, graphite, pencil, feminine, floral, surreal, ethereal, earthy This drawing is framed with 2.5mm thick Museum Glass, which eliminates reflections and blocks 99% of UV rays. Brittany Noriega is an emerging contemporary artist, a community organizer, a lifelong learner, and a lover of humanity. She is an interdisciplinary artist exploring the connectedness in visual art and emotion through large-scale, detailed, and otherworldly works. Brittany is a Kansas City native but spent much of her youth traveling the globe and collecting experiences. These experiences shaped her beliefs, her love of people, and continue to influence her work today. Brittany studied studio art and sociology in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is currently studying Health Science and how the arts affect our bodies and minds.
