Monogrammed, included a white cardboard passpartout (51x35 cm).
Adolphe Léon Willette (30 July 1857, Châlons-sur-Marne – 4 February 1926, Paris) was a French painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and lithographer, as well as an architect of the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret. Willette ran as an "anti-semitic" candidate in the 9th arrondissement of Paris for the September 1889 legislative elections.

The state of preservation is very good. The paper is applied on a cardboard measuring 22.8 x 14.3 cm. It represents a figure in three quarters, half naked, with different afterthoughts on the position of the legs, whilst playing a lyre. Above, three puttos throw flowers.

Study for Crucifix is a splendid drawing in pastel realized by Adolphe Léon Willette, a French illustrator, painter, caricaturist, lithographer, and architect. The state of preservation is very good. The paper presents some fringes on the left margin. On the lower left, in pencil, there is the inscription, probably not coeval, “Willette”.
The drawing represents an unusual iconography, in which the crucified Christ has his right hand nailed to the cross whilst his left hand is free, caressing the head of a female figure wearing a veil, presumably the Virgin Mary.
