About the Item

Reclining Female figure, original signed line drawing, in pencil and ink by Albert Radoczy. Albert Radoczy was a master at exploring the female form. Throughout his career, his drawings and paintings depicted women with images ranging from realistic to whimsical, sensual to spiritual, and from ethereal to hallucinatory. It is known that each portrait created by Radoczy is inspired by his wife. This piece lives in a floating wood frame. Signed and dated 1963. His solo work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art (Annual Exhibit 1962), the Brooklyn Museum (Print Exhibit 1962), the MoMA Lending Collection (1965), and the NJ State Museum.

    Gracious nude of a woman drawn with ink on craft paper. Jerry O'Day is also known as Geraldine Heib. Born in Oakland, CA on June 17, 1912. Geraldine Heib assumed the name Jerry O'Day at an early age. She grew up in Washington and studied in Seattle at the Cornish School of Fine Arts. Upon moving to the San Francisco Bay area in 1938, she further studied with Bufano as a muralist for two years. She wed sculptor David Lemon and had a gallery in a converted cod fishery in Belvedere from 1942 until 1963.
