The drawing is signed at lower left "G. Fraschetti," or Giuseppe Fraschetti, a Florence-born artist who was a pupil of Giacomo Lolli, active mainly in Tuscany at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and known for his unique figurative style, influenced solely by his own point of view.
The sheet is double-sided (ink and pencil on paper, 32.5 x 23.3 cm) and depicts two religious episodes.
On the front, a scene from the Gospels (The Deposition from the Cross).
On the back is a scene from the Bible (The Expulsion from Paradise).
it is plausible to assume that they are studies from life based on a pre-existing cycle of frescoes or painting, or that they are the artist's interpretation of the theme (he devoted a substantial part of his artistic career to religious composition), probably to be linked to the academic period.
