This piece focuses on America's cultural appropriation and exploitation of Mexican culture. Living in the desert Southwest, the center of immigration debate and border control, the collective anxiety over a changing national demographics is palpable. This piece considers the selective nature of the “melting pot identity” by documenting that which is considered innocuous enough to be allowed admittance - toys, design, architecture and children.
