Signed lower right, "Louis La Barbera" (American, 1914-2007) and tilted lower left, "Mother and Child".
Louis La Barbera first studied at San Jose State University, receiving his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California. Over the course of a long life, he was active in various art communities including Laguna Beach and the Monterey Peninsula. La Barbera also taught art for over 30 years at San Jose State College and Los Angeles. He exhibited widely, showing his work in numerous one-man exhibitions in the United States and throughout the world, including Brazil and Italy. We are pleased to offer this dramatic and colorful work by a noted California artist.
