About the Item
"Kobe" is an original contemporary wall-hanging artwork by Sean 9 Lugo, known artistically for his murals and street art . The two bear faced basketball players wearing Lakers jerseys are hand drawn and painted with ink and acrylic. The figure is then wheatpasted on a decommissioned street sign, with a background of collaged newspaper and mixed media. This piece measures 24”h x 24”w.
Sean 9 Lugo‘s artwork is reflective of the diverse culture that surrounded him as a child growing up in Hudson County, N.J. with parents from Puerto Rico and Cuba. His street art is known for representing the duality of both Latin and American culture and experiences through masks that can either misconceive or stereotype perceptions.
Sean 9 Lugo’s artwork has been shown in solo and group exhibitions around the United States including The National Liberty Museum, University City Arts League, Mesa Contemporary Art Museum, Paradigm Gallery, Deep Space Gallery, Jinxed Fishtown, LITM, 58 Gallery, Dis Micro Gallery, Northern Soul, Thinkspace Gallery, Arch Enemy Arts, Clutter Gallery, Inner State Gallery, Honolulu Museum, 17 Frost Gallery, My Plastic Heart, and Succulent Gallery. His murals can be seen from New York to the Dominican Republic through projects with Track Takeover, Wall Therapy, Welling Court, Arte Sano, Central Ave Sid, Arts Org NYC, Fashion Institute of Technology, HAHAxParadigm, NJ Beer Company, and Savage Habbit. He has been featured in national and international publications such as Metro, Al Día, WHYY, WXPN, Streets Dept, Brooklyn Street Art, Fecal Face, Street Art NYC, Robots Will Kill, News 12 New Jersey, and Jersey Journal.

Como Kobe - Dynamic Contemporary Sports Basketball Painting with Vibrant Colors
By Danny Brown
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Danny Brown’s artworks allocate an intrinsic connection between himself and the diverse communities occupying Los Angeles. Brown combines art history, streetwear trends, and pop art symbolism to create a signature style with a soft and fun, yet edgy character. He is willing to address a very unique point of view about social issues of our day with unmistakable perspectives. His artworks have the potential to influence a new generation of artists, incorporating diversity and respect for varying cultures.
This one-of-a-kind acrylic painting on canvas measures 64 inches high by 50 inches wide. It is signed by Brown on the back. The artwork is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Danny Brown is a first-generation American urban artist born in Los Angeles. His parents relocated their family from Oaxaca, Mexico in search of opportunities in the United States. Brown uses his interest in fashion as well as his knowledge of color, design, and culture as inspiration for his paintings. The loss of friends to violence and incarceration, combined with the loss of a family member to gang violence pushed Brown to use art as a source of therapy and to project a positive inspiring image for his community.
Brown’s art coalesces youth culture, art history, fashion, and American consumerism and melds them all to create his unique style. Instantly relatable and recognizable, his cathartic paintings represent contemporary issues as well as a demographic that is traditionally underrepresented in fine art. His works speak to young Americans and inspire a whole new generation of art collectors and admirers.
Since 2016, Daniel Brown...
