Masterful Scottish watercolor landscape of Loch Tay with boats and small figures on the short by Aaron Edwin Penley (English, 1826-1897). Signed and dated lower left corner "A. Penley 1872." Titled on verso "Loch Tay." In rustic frame; shipped without glass. Image, 7.25"H X 18"L. Watercolor Painter to William IV and Queen Adelaide, Aaron Penley exhibited for the first time at the Royal Academy in 1835. He was a professor of drawing at the Addiscombe Military College. He painted in many parts of the British Isles, especially Scotland. Tonal aging and age wear.
