Mid Century watercolor seascape of the "Suisun Clipper" and other boats on the Moss Landing harbor by Dorothy Ruth Houghton Rich (American,1902-1994). Signed "Dorothy H. Rich" left. In a painted wooden frame with linen fillet. Image: 16"H x 20"L.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Dorothy H. Rich graduated from New York Institute of Fine Art, and attended Harvard University. She taught art at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Bennett High School in Buffalo and in Scotts Valley, CA. She moved to Santa Cruz in 1947 where she was a well known artist specializing in water colors.
