About the Item
White Poppies - Botanical Watercolor on Paper
Detailed floral watercolor by Harry Federico (American, 1922-2022). Several white poppies with yellow centers are shown against a green background. The background is composed of other poppy stems and leaves.
Signed "Federico" in the lower left corner.
Presented in a gold-colored aluminum frame with an off-white mat.

Harry Federico (American, 1922-2022) was born in Denver, Colorado, but lived most of his life in the Santa Cruz and San Jose areas of California. He studied at the University of Washington, but was served during WWII, in the Navy as a Combat Air Crewman. Federico had several successful careers, as a tailor, a life insurance agent, and a financial planner. When he retired, he turned his efforts toward painting, pursuing it for over 20 years. He became notable in the Santa Cruz County area for his detailed watercolors of local scenes.
