About the Item

Ink on paper Liu Ziyu is a Chinese artist born in 1978 who lives and works in Beijing, China. He was graduated in 2020 from from the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry with a Ph.D. He is a member of the creative Union of Russian Artist and Member of Chinese Arts and Crafts Institute. Mr. Liu Ziyu was born in a family of carvers in Hebei province where people have been carving for generations since the Han Dynasty. His father and his elder brother were both famous local sculptors. In this context, it was natural for the family to think that Liu Ziyu should inherit his ancestral legacy and that sculpture should be his life's path. Therefore at the age of thirteen, Liu Ziyu's family sent him to Beijing to study sculpture. However, Liu Ziyu was not interested in sculpture but poured his full enthusiasm into the painting. He was interviewed: "Why did you choose to paint?" He said there was no reason because he was born to love it. This is a choice to follow his heart, which leads to the birth of an iconoclast painter. Liu Ziyu's love for painting goes deep into his life and he always feels good his beloved paintings. He said one day that what the most he wants in his life is to get rid of all the distractions and concentrate into the painting. In his spare time, his greatest joy is to keep looking at his paintings. His artwork occupies every corner of his heart. From the very beginning and during nearly thirty years, Liu Ziyu's love for painting has grown stronger and stronger. He has contributed to several excellent artworks into the art world. Due to the outstanding nature of his works, he participated to many exhibitions in China and worldwide.
