About the Item

This watercolor is a wonderful example of of an abstract southwestern landscape. The colors used in this piece evoke the warmth of the desert it depicts, consisting of a wide range of oranges and yellows, with deep green cacti. This piece effortlessly captures the spirit of the American Southwest. It is signed by the artist on the front of the piece and sold with the frame. This watercolor has not been in circulation since the artists death. Patricia Kerr Ross graduated from the University of Arizona in the early 1960's with an art degree, and moved to Albany. She obtained an M.A. at SUNY Albany; she became head of Programs in the Arts for the entire SUNY system. She was also member of the original Rockefeller team that established the University. Kerr Ross was a talented painter and potter.
