The sheet is (27.8 x 39.2 cm) double-sided.
The front (watercolor ink, white lead) depicts a rural hamlet, in which a church is also glimpsed, characterized by various buildings of different architectural styles and the lush natural surroundings. features a cursive inscription in the lower left corner that is difficult to interpret but could be "pleasant esplanade." The The perspective plus the squareness of the sheet could be indicative of a sketch for a stage backdrop, and in this case the interpretation of the inscription would also be corroborated since amenity locations are frequent in theatrical performances as far back as the nineteenth century.
On the back (pencil) some studies of architectural decoration and an inscription with numbers and words.
